HISTORY
And just like that...
In the same year the film Animal House hit the silver screen, Macris Hendricks and Glascock, P.A. emerged from the collected ideals of more ambitious fraternity brothers at the University of Maryland. John Macris met Jim Hendricks at a campus function during the early stages of founding his engineering firm. Having recently partnered with land surveyor Dick Witmer, John invited Jim to join them in this new venture and Macris, Hendricks & Witmer, P.A. was born. With an increasing workload after the company’s founding, John asked Jim if he knew other civil engineers who might be interested in joining the firm. Jim Glascock accepted the invitation and the rest, as they say, is history.
From this modest beginning of six employees MHG grew with the ever expanding metropolitan region from the office situated in Rockville, Maryland. Upon outgrowing the temporary survey department trailers adjacent to the Metro rails, the firm settled in a more permanent location. Positioned within Montgomery Village Maryland, the company began expanding not simply in number of employees but in scope of services as well. Prior to his retirement, John Macris and his fellow partners established a succession plan to ensure MHG’s long term viability. With a full complement of professional services and a new and next generation of professional owners, MHG is equipped to provide a seamless continuum of skills from the earliest feasibility investigations through the preparation of final as-built drawings.
