Ken joined MHG in 2002 after being recruited by MHG’s senior survey department leaders, Doug Riggs and Barry Hoyle at a lunch meeting; Ken was working on the wait staff at a popular Montgomery Village restaurant. He was personable, bright, and had earned a Degree in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park. MHG was looking to hire an individual to work on one of its survey field crews and Ken was willing to try something new. Fortunately for MHG (and Ken as well), Ken was not cut out to be a land surveyor, however with his mathematics background and willingness to try new endeavors, Ken moved into a role in MHG’s environmental engineering practice. Ken excelled on MHG’s engineering side of the business rising from designer to project manager in a few short years.

Ken earned his professional engineering license in 2016 through the work experience path and became part of the MHG owner/management team in 2020. Recently, Ken became the head of MHG’s Environmental Engineering Department. Ken will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, mildly sarcastic remarks, and ever willingness to embrace new opportunities. In his all too short career at MHG, Ken achieved a breadth of experience, knowledge, and understanding broader than any MHG employee or principal, past or present. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
